Carpinteria 2010

We spent the last week of June camping at Carpinteria in California with Jeremy's family. It is a beautiful beach and we had a great time playing in the water and hanging out at the campground. We didn't have the best beach weather, it was cool and overcast most days, but that didn't stop the kids from spending most of the day in the ocean! Taylor and Luke were more comfortable out in the water this year and worked on perfecting their boogie boarding skills. A pod of dolphins swam through the wave break where they were playing a few of the days were out there. Lizzy was also less hesitant of the water this year and had a blast jumping through the waves. We made a trip out to the tide pools and did lots of digging in the sand.

At the camp site, the kids took over a climbing tree near us and used it to play, read and relax. Lizzy read and took a “nap” with hapa in the reclining chairs. We roasted marshmallows, played ladder golf and had a big marshmallow gun fight. I’m not sure who had more fun-the kids or the adults?!?
Jeremy and I wanted to do one day trip with the kids and decided to take them to Universal Studios. Unfortunately, our camera stopped working while we were there and we only got a few pictures, but had a great time seeing where/how some of the movies were made.

Some friends of Jeremy's parents took family pictures for us one day at the beach. They did a great job and I was so happy to get some pictures of our family as we haven't had any done in a long time. Also, it was the first time all of the grandkids had been together since little Liam was born. Jeremy's brother Tim, who lives in Wisconsin, his girlfriend Sam and their son Liam, were also in California with us. Thank you Ashley and Kristi for taking the pictures! We love them!

No trip to California would be complete without at least one, or well, three stops to In N’ Out Burger which is Jeremy’s favorite and why the kids have dubbed him “Double Double.” I like In N’ Out, but I love Baja Fresh, so we also ate there twice. Mmm…fresh salsa!

I am slowly figuring out the pictures, but it is taking me forever to post this...more to come.
